October 17, 2017  The City has approved the non-profit agency, "Care For The Children" to paint street numbers on curbs and in alleys.

DUI/Driver’s License Checkpoint Planned this Weekend
February 14, 2018  The Whittier Police Department Traffic Unit will be conducting a DUI/Driver’s License Checkpoint on February 16, 2018, at an undisclosed location within the city limits between the hours of 7:00 p.m. to 2:30 a.m.

Homeowners Property Tax Exemption
February 12, 2018  Homeowners Exemption is a property tax savings program in which Los Angeles County property owners can save on their annual tax bills. Nearly one in three homeowners in Los Angeles County do not take advantage of this tax savings program, leaving $30 million unclaimed each year. Across the County, an additional 435,000 families can be saving on their property tax bills. Attached is a list of all 88 cities in Los Angeles County and the number of qualified homeowners in the Whittier community. Homeowners need only apply once in order to receive these savings each year. Savings continue until a change (such as a sale) is recorded.

Two Female Students From the La Serna High School Track Team Was Inappropriately Touched
February 7, 2018  It was reported to the police department today that yesterday afternoon at approximately 4:00 p.m., two female students from the La Serna High School Track Team were inappropriately touched while running in the 15200 of Youngwood Ave. in the City of Whittier.
