The Whittier Consortium on Homelessness is a collaborative network aimed at getting things done. The Consortium is comprised of small groups of activated community members taking the lead as collaborator in key areas representing our Community. The mission of the Whittier Consortium on Homelessness is to manifest the vision by developing ideas, facilitating partnerships, educating our community, the homeless and interested groups and agencies, and by advocating on behalf of our non-profits, our homeless, and the community at-large.
With regular meetings and personal & professional communications, the Whittier Consortium on Homelessness:
- Advocates for practical and quick policy and collaborative solutions
- Brings together the various agencies and organizations that serve our homeless neighbors
- Brings together community members, government, and the nonprofit community so that everyone can be aware of the nature of the concern, the existing services, and where gaps are present
- Facilitates connection for those wishing to help agencies and organizations engaged in service to our community
- Provides information to those who are trying to help another
- Supports the efforts community members and agencies
