Message Board
Any non-profit organization based in Whittier may submit an event announcement for the CityTV3 message board. City staff will review the appropriateness of messages and may edit them for space and clarity. The CityTV3 office is open Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, at City Hall, 13230 Penn Street in Whittier, (562)567-9310, admin@cityofwhittier.org. Requests should be submitted at least 2 weeks prior to the event.
Access to the message board is limited to twelve messages per year, space permitting. Information should be submitted to the City's Cable Office and include:
- Organization Name
- Event
- Date of Event
- Time of Event
- Location of Event
- Cost of event
- Contact name and telephone number
We prefer receiving event information by email and ideally in PowerPoint or Adobe Photoshop formats, however, you may submit by mail or in person and include event fliers, photographs, or other organization graphics to be used in the announcement. Organizations should submit proof of its 501c3 or other non-profit status with the first announcement request. It is not necessary to resubmit the non-profit status with subsequent requests.
Messages will be accepted on a first come, first served basis and aired as space allows. Messages will be removed the day after the scheduled event. The City of Whittier reserves the right to decline any request that does not fall within the non-profit guidelines.
User priority for the municipal channel message board is established to provide the most equitable use of available space in the event that heavy demand results in space limitation. The order of priority for messages on the message board is as follows:
- Time-dated or essential City of Whittier information. Non-essential or standing information may be removed in the event of space limitation, and will be reinstated when space permits.
- Organizations within the city limits of Whittier sponsoring events taking place within city limits.
- Organizations within the city limits of Whittier sponsoring events taking place outside of Whittier.
Omission and Errors
Should human or technical error result in the cablecast of incorrect information over the municipal channel, the City of Whittier, its officers and agents shall not be liable for the inaccuracy of the information.
