Character Defining Features
- One or two stories;
- Asymmetrical façade sometimes with a tower element;
- Tile roof;
- Terra cotta tile vents;
- Side or cross-gabled, occasionally hipped, low pitched roofs. Flat roofs are also seen;
- Smooth plaster or stucco wall cladding;
- Arched windows and doors;
- Arcaded exterior corridors;
- Small balconies;
- Wood or steel sash windows, typically casement windows;
- Ornamental wrought iron is not uncommon; and,
- Decorative ceramic tiles are not uncommon.
