DBE
Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (DBE) and Small Business Enterprise (SBE) firms are strongly encouraged to participate in the City of Whittier's contract opportunities. City projects funded in whole or in part with federal funding sources are subject to DBE requirements set forth in Title 49 of the Code of Federal Regulations (CFR), Part 26, and the State of California Department of Transportation DBE Program Plan, as well as other Caltrans guidelines. For these projects, specific DBE requirements and project goals are detailed in the project's bid specifications.
Each year a Plan is submitted to Caltrans listing the measures the City will take to assist Caltrans in achieving its overall statewide DBE goal. The Disadvantaged Business Enterprises Liaison Officer can be contacted at (562) 567-9500.
