FPPC Form 700

Government Code Section 87505 requires the City to post on its website the identity of elected officials that file a Form 700 Statement of Economic Interests.

Every elected official and public employee who makes or influences governmental decisions is required to submit a Statement of Economic Interest, also known as the Form 700. The Form 700 provides transparency and ensures accountability in two ways:

  1. It provides necessary information to the public about an official’s personal financial interests to ensure that officials are making decisions in the best interest of the public and not enhancing their personal finances.

  2. It serves as a reminder to the public official of potential conflicts of interest so the official can abstain from making or participating in governmental decisions that are deemed conflicts of interest.

FPPC Form 700 for the Mayor and Council Members are on file in the City Clerk Department at Whittier City Hall. Copies of statements of economic interest for these City elected officers may be obtained by visiting City Hall at 13230 Penn Street, Whittier, California 90602. Statements of economic interests for some state and local government agency elected officers may be available in an electronic format on the Fair Political Practices Commission’s website, or the City's Form 700 Search Portal.

Council Members, Candidates, identified City Consultants, and designated City Staff can login and submit their Form 700's electronically through the City's Electronic Filing System
